[00:00:00] Speaker A: Me. [00:00:01] Speaker B: Me. [00:00:04] Speaker A: All right, ready? Fayetteville beats Bentonville 42 21 in another massive Seven A West Conference win, and the Purple Dogs are in the driver's seat for the conference championship. Harrison rallies to beat Alma with a Hail Mary pass, and Booneville and Charleston set to clash in a three A one showdown. All this and more coming up on this week's Prep Rally. [00:00:27] Speaker C: You're listening to the Prep Rally Podcast. Now here's your host, Graham Thomas. [00:00:37] Speaker A: Welcome to the Prep Rally Podcast, sponsored by West, Termite, Pest and Lawn. I'm Graham Thomas with the Northwest Arkansas Democrat Gazette, along with sports reporter Rick Fires. And Leland Barclay joins us from the River Valley. And guys, we said it every, almost every week, but what a week it was in the seven a West Conference. Bentonville and Fayetteville go toe to toe for most of three quarters, Rick, before Fayetteville pulls away for a 42 21 victory. [00:01:03] Speaker B: You know what? We got various rankings. I look at about three or four different rankings. Democrat Gazette and Media ranking, everything. But right now, man, Fable's got to be in the top three. Bentonville long been a dominant team as far as winning conference championships, but, man, I was highly impressed with Fable and of course, Drake Lindsay. Five touchdown passes. They got the running game going, and it was just a convincing win, no doubt, for the Purple Dogs. [00:01:34] Speaker A: Yeah, and we're going to talk about that one and a whole lot more on this week's Prep Rally. We'll start and then we'll just keep it right here on topic while we're here. Fayetteville was they were up 20 114 at halftime on Bentonville. It was kind of an interesting game start to the game. Bentonville had a fumble, and Carter and I, I'm sure would tell you right off the bat, I'm sure he would tell you it was an incomplete pass, but the officials ruled it a fumble, I believe was Noah Jansky who made the hit on Carter and I to knock corner blitz. And Rhett Tidwell picks it up and goes 45 yards for a touchdown. And Fayetteville takes a seven nothing lead. Then Bittenville comes roaring back with two straight scores and looked good doing them. And they went right down the field. And Carter and I hit, I believe, his first twelve passes for about 190 yards or so. And then all of a sudden, Bentonville is in the lead, 14 to seven. And then all of a sudden, here comes Fayetteville again. It looked like we were in for a shootout, Rick. And Fayetteville scored the last two touchdowns of the half. Drake Lindsay with a couple of touchdown passes there, and it's 20 114. And it kind of stayed that way for a little while. Bentonville started moving the football, and then all of a sudden, Carter and I goes down late in the third quarter, and that was like Fayetteville smelled blood in the water at that point. They went, uh, bentonville had to turn to a sophomore at quarterback who actually. [00:03:06] Speaker B: Did a third string. [00:03:08] Speaker A: Yeah, did a good job. But Fayetteville scores the final or scores three more touchdowns to yeah, that's right, three more touchdowns. They're up 42 to 14. Bentonville scored late to make it 42 21. We're not real sure what's going to be the status with Carter and I this week, but obviously he's a key cog in that Bentonville engine. But, man, going back to Fayetteville, what a win. I mean, it was a balanced offense. They had a lot of rushing had they didn't have just an over huge amount of passing yards, Rick. But they were efficient in what they did. [00:03:50] Speaker B: Absolutely. You know what? And I'm guilty of sometime watching the wide receivers and all the fancy plays and Drake Lindsay can throw at 70 yards, but, man, the offensive line, I mean, you got to give them they never get enough credit. But, man, they did a great job. Pass blocking setzer, really had a good game that back up the little sophomore. Whoever they put in there, they were blocking, making holes, and it wasn't like off the chart numbers, but it was a steady number. And defensively, I mean, Fable took the field. They were already head seven nothing before they even take the field. What an advantage right there. So just all phases of the game. Fable was exceptional on Friday. [00:04:39] Speaker A: Leland, what did you think when you saw the results of this one, the box score and all the stats? [00:04:45] Speaker D: I did a double take or maybe a triple take and maybe even looked one more time after that because I couldn't believe that Fayetteville outrushed Bentonville. I should have went back to see when the last time Fayetteville outrushed Bentonville in a game. But that is just what really stood out to me. [00:05:11] Speaker A: And not just outrushed them, they outrushed them by three times the amount of yards. [00:05:15] Speaker D: Yeah. Bentonville had 24 carries for 61 yards. Fayetteville had 39 rushing attempts. So not only did they have more yards for 186 yards, so not only more yards, but more carries. So, I mean, they actually ran the ball 39 times more than they passed it 30 times. So, I mean, that balance, if that's something that Fayetteville can maintain, yes. Wow. The fact that they were able to run it and you're right, I think we talked about Christian Setzer last year or last week. They've kind of gotten into the flow of a running game now and I think getting, you know, familiar there. So if they can maintain that, gosh with Drake Lindsay and Delamar in the passing game. And the other guys, Spencer and Graves and Cessr is also an important part of their passing game. He caught three passes for 24 yards. [00:06:17] Speaker A: Sure did. [00:06:17] Speaker D: And a nine yard touchdown. So he's also very vital in that. And just an all around, like you said, just a great all around performance. [00:06:26] Speaker A: By fayetteville and talking with Jody Grant, Bentonville's coach, after the game, he says, look, that Fayetteville D line. They are the real deal. [00:06:37] Speaker B: In that bunch. [00:06:38] Speaker A: Yes. And really not just the D line, but their front know Kaden Spencer and Landon Jones. And. [00:06:50] Speaker B: Landon Jones. Man outside linebacker. My goodness. Man, he brings it. [00:06:54] Speaker A: So the purple dogs are in the driver's, you know. Right. They've they've made it through, and they got them both at home, but they made it through Rogers. They've made it through Bentonville. And now the last part of their schedule, they're going to have Rogers heritage. They're going to have Springdale Rogers heritage and harbor. Quite frankly, those are all three teams that they should beat. I just don't see that anybody's going to beat Fayetteville to close out the Seven A West slate. Now, anything can happen. [00:07:23] Speaker B: You know, the coach is going to be focused on the first one. You can't let up. You're this close, you're on the cusp of winning championship, and you let up a little bit in a Seven A West. A lot of leagues in Arkansas, you can get bitten. [00:07:39] Speaker A: Yes. So as the league standings are kind of starting to take shape a little bit here. Fayetteville's out in front in the driver's seat. And now we move to some of the other games in the conference. So we'll talk about first Bentonville West with a big win over Springdale Harbor, and really jumped all over harbor. Kind of surprised it didn't end up being the shootout, because I think harbor can really do some neat things offensively. Bentonville west, they're rolling right now. Leland yeah. [00:08:14] Speaker D: Dalton Rice, he was able to take the snaps. Bentonville west was going to have a three year starter, jay Casey, at quarterback, but they knew they were going to be without him for the year early. So Dalton Rice was able to go through Spring and Summer, and, man, he looks the part now. 21 of 27, 310 yards, five touchdowns. Three of those were to Brust on Friday night. So he settled into that offense, and he's the leader of that offense now. [00:08:48] Speaker A: Yeah. And they've got some big games coming up. They're going to play Bentonville, I believe, in week ten, so we'll know more about how that shapes out. I don't think Bentonville West has ever beaten Bentonville. No, but over at Springdale, Rogers kind of got healthy after a couple of losses a row. The Mounties go for over 560 yards of offense and a big win against Springdale. Now, Leland, kind of the fun part about this one was the way the game began. Rogers with a few onside kicks. I think they were worried about that Springdale ball control offense. They were just trying to keep the ball away from them. [00:09:34] Speaker D: Well, they kind of took care of that. They took the opening kick off and scored. Got the onside kick and scored. Got the onside kick and scored. So before Springdale's offense ever took the field. [00:09:46] Speaker A: It's an interesting strategy to go about things, but if you're Rogers, what you're fearing is what you had there was you had the Bray Bowl, you had the Rob Bray, the offensive line coach at Rogers, going up against his son Bryce Bray, former Rogers standout, who is the offensive coordinator at Springdale. And they've installed that Harding flex bone at Springdale. And if Springdale gets into that flexbone and gets it rolling a little bit, you may not see the ball. They'll just eat up clock, they'll eat up yardage. And so Rogers with the ball control strategy there, they went 52 to twelve, and they had struggled offensively the previous week. [00:10:32] Speaker B: Rick, is that the PA strategy where you onside kick, get the ball back onside kick, get the ball back on side kick? The coach tried to explain all the percentage and numbers. I never could figure it out. Maybe Leland could figure it out when Kelly was trying to explain all that, but, man, it worked out for him. So good job by Rogers. [00:10:52] Speaker A: I don't think that Rogers will be doing that against Bentonville this week. [00:10:55] Speaker B: No, I doubt it. [00:10:56] Speaker A: But you never know. I mean, it could happen. And then the other seven A West ball game was Fort Smith south side all over Rogers heritage, 42 to twelve, and the Mavericks get their first seven A West Conference win. Everybody's been saying they were the best Owen three seven A West team we've ever seen. [00:11:25] Speaker B: Like I just heard, Arkansas is the best two and five team. I've never liked that. You know what, you played seven game, you've lost five. You're not best of anything. [00:11:35] Speaker A: Right. Well, moving on over, let's go over to the five A West Conference, and we had some interesting ball games, and we'll just kind of start with the Harrison Goblins victory over Alma, and that kind of made a jumbled five A West Conference standings after Shiloh Christian. That is even a little bit more jumbled going into this week. So Harrison, with the Hail Mary pass to beat Alma at Alma last week, and our boy Mason Ketterman for the Goblins was the player of the week. [00:12:15] Speaker B: Rick yeah, not only did he I read this story, excellent story by Harold McElvain. And on the Hail Mary pass, what was it, 41 yards, he extended the play. He actually had to get out there and just to make that throw. Had to get out of pocket just to make that throw. And who caught the winning touchdown pass? McNutt. Yeah. So there's a great well, it's not exciting for Alma, but exciting for Harrison. I'm sure they were rocking and rolling, going back up the hill back to Harrison, but not only because I look at this stuff and I said, wow, that's a great to throw the winning touchdown pass. But not only did that, he had a fourth down stop for them to get the ball. He had a sack so they could get the ball in the final couple of minutes. So great job by Harrison, great job by our player of the week. And Harrison. Right. Instead of staring one and three, now they're two and two. So they're right in the thick of the five A West Conference race. [00:13:15] Speaker A: Yes. So what you got is you got Shiloh's four, and then you got Alma at three and one, and Farmington at three and one, and then Prairie Grove and Harrison right behind them. And I tell you what, nobody's out of it for that two to five. There could be a lot of movement there, and you could even say it's six and seven. P Ridge and Dardenell are still within striking distance if they can get a couple wins there. [00:13:39] Speaker B: How many goal did play off in that conference? [00:13:40] Speaker A: Only four. [00:13:41] Speaker B: Only four? [00:13:42] Speaker A: Wow. Leland, so what was your read on the Harrison Alma game? That was a big know. [00:13:50] Speaker D: I knew that Harrison was very capable of winning the game, but to go on the road and win at Alma was big for them. And it kind of evens up their conference record in, I guess, maybe close games that could have went either way because they lost to Farmington a couple of weeks ago in a very tough way to lose a ball game, and then they pull this one out. So I think they're probably maybe feeling like they got a little justification for after losing that Farmington game. But it also now, like you guys said, really puts emphasis on every game, every week, because Dardenell is a very capable team, too. They run the ball a lot. P Ridge got off to that great start. They've got a senior quarterback that's leading them. So it's going to be very interesting down the stretch in the four A one. [00:14:46] Speaker A: So there was a big game at Gentry. Ozark, with a 42 to 20 win against Gentry, and Kobe Willbanks had a big night for the Hillbillies. Ozark remains undefeated in conference play. Gentry gets their first conference loss. And now we've got the showdown coming up, and we'll talk about it in a little bit. But Elkins and Ozark, we've been kind of eyeballing that matchup all year, the four A one. There will be a lot decided this week when those two teams play. Leland, you were at the three a One marquee matchup this last week when Charleston beat Hackett. Tell us a little bit about that one. [00:15:33] Speaker D: Everybody knew that Booneville was going to be the team to beat, at least in August in the three a one with DAX Goff coming back, rylan Ray came back healthy. Now, I don't know his status for Friday night because he left their game injured on last week, but we knew they were going to be the team to beat. We knew they'd be able to have plug in a quarterback that would be good, and he's been better than good. Jace Warsburn has been way better than good. So we knew they would be good. The question was, is two through five now? Tighter than normal, maybe. And man, I tell you, Charleston, yeah, they lost a lot of seniors and they're going through their second quarterback after losing their starter as well. But defensively, Charleston's very good. And that's going to be a key matchup on Friday night. Booneville and Charleston, because they are one and two in that conference now, and that's the way it's going to stay. So now the battle is three, four and five, but Charleston and Booneville is going to be one of those great marquee games. We've got two of the best games in the state in the River Valley this week with that one. And then Elkins at Ozark. [00:16:48] Speaker A: Yeah, I was going to ask you what a Friday night in Hackett was like. It looked like it was a pretty good game there for a while. [00:16:54] Speaker D: Oh, it was. Hackett's offense is so explosive. Bryson Hamilton, this junior receiver that is so good, he did not play. They were hoping he'd be able to play, but he didn't. Hopefully they'll have him back for at least week ten against Mansfield, which is going to be a key game in the three A one. But, yeah, I love my trips to Hackett. It's been a few years since I've been down there. But, yeah, it was a great time. Bill Mills Field. It was rocking. And Hackett, I don't think there's very many times that Hackett goes into a game with Charleston feeling like they have a chance to win. So Hackett had a full house there and it was a great game. Hackett was close early, but for the second week in a row, Charleston's defense had a second half shutout, which is that's hard to do with all these high powered offenses, no doubt about that. [00:17:54] Speaker A: One other conference I want us to take a look at, the result was, I don't know if you call it surprising, but Lamar kind of not convincingly, but they beat Pottsville 32 to 20. And, man, just take a look at the standings in that. The four A four conference there. It's just unbelievable how close that is. [00:18:21] Speaker D: Hey, that four A four conference. I think at this point now, it is the most exciting conference in the state to keep an eye on because there are just in fact, I talked to Josh Jones yesterday and it is a tough, tough conference. And also some marquee players. I mean, Marcus Wimberly at Bauxite. You've got Grayson Wilson at CAC, and then the running back from Clinton. That was the overall state player of the week after rushing for 391 yards and six touchdowns. That's going to be a great conference to keep an eye on. Last year, it came down to the point system for, I think, two, three and four seeds in that conference. And it's probably going to come down to the same thing this year. [00:19:13] Speaker B: The only school I'm just glancing at it, man, you're right. That's so tight. The only schools out of it is Dover. And that's probably Henry apple's fault. He's a former Dover pirate, so you can blame that on Henry. But, my goodness, that is. [00:19:31] Speaker A: Know and Leland, correct me if I'm wrong, but only four of those nine teams are going to go to the playoffs. Is that right? [00:19:37] Speaker D: No, five. [00:19:38] Speaker A: Okay. [00:19:39] Speaker D: Five will make yep, five do. In fact, I'm looking at a possible it's possible we could have a first round matchup of Lamar at Ozark. Now, I know that's still a month away, but five do go in that conference. But, man, it's going to be one to watch because every game and Lamar moved their game from Friday night to Thursday night this week against Little Rock Hall. And even though Little Rock Hall is not up there with those others, they're much better than they have been. And Lamar is not overlooking that game. I can assure you that. [00:20:17] Speaker A: Very exciting times there in the four A. Well, it's the four A four. So sometimes I get confused between the four a seven and the four a four. So let's take a look at this week's games. I know we kind of jumped all over the place. It was an exciting Friday night in northwest Arkansas in the River Valley. But as always, we'll start in the seven A west. And I don't think it's any doubt that the marquee matchup of the week is going to be the Bentonville Tigers at Rogers. And these are two teams that have something in common and that they both gotten beaten by Fayetteville at Fayetteville in big games. And we just don't know yet which Bentonville team will show up and Will Carter and I play in the game. I talked to Jody Grant yesterday, which was Monday, and we don't know. He doesn't know. Um, the good news was that the x rays on his ankle were negative and that was what he told me on Saturday. But we'll just have to see how he responds. And this is the old battle of Benton County. I know we've got two other big schools of Benton County, but this, Rick, is Bentonville Rogers for the 120th meeting between Bentonville and Rogers. [00:21:36] Speaker B: You know what and not only the quarterback situation, but how is Bentonville going to respond after basically getting spanked over there at Fayetteville? It's just not a quarterback. Maybe they can find a quarterback, kind of manage the game, not do anything spectacular like Nye would. But guys at the other position, they got to play better, too, especially in know, Fable went on. That what they score, like four straight touchdowns or so. So let's see how Bentonville bounces back. Rogers is a quality team. They're going to be at home. They're going to put up all kind of big time numbers. Dane Williams in that bunch. So right now you got to give the edge to Rogers. But particularly with the quarterback situation, you don't really know how that's going to turn out. But excellent game right there. Looking forward to that one. [00:22:28] Speaker A: Well, here's the other thing, too. The last time that Rogers has beaten Bentonville was in 2006 in double overtime at Gate Stadium in front of 10,000 people, it seemed like, out there. [00:22:43] Speaker B: Oh, is that right? [00:22:45] Speaker A: It's been that long since Rogers. There have been some close calls in between, but Bentonville owns a 16 game winning streak in that series, so we'll see. [00:22:54] Speaker B: I didn't know that. [00:22:56] Speaker A: Fayetteville is at Springdale this week, and the battle of the know doesn't carry maybe the same hype that it did all those years ago. [00:23:07] Speaker B: Definitely doesn't. [00:23:09] Speaker A: Springdale harbor is at Fort Smith Southside, and that's going to be an exciting one. You can talk about two teams that are very capable of putting up a lot of points. I mean, that's harbor and south side for sure. [00:23:19] Speaker B: Who's at the bottom right now? Heritage. And who else has got a is it Springdale? They got to find a way to get a win somewhere. Who's at the bottom that's at the bottom looking up? [00:23:29] Speaker A: Well, definitely Rogers. Heritage is and Springdale is the other one there. And they've already played each other. Springdale already beat Heritage and Rogers Heritage plays at Bentonville West this week. So that's kind of the rundown of the games on the Seven A West side and then the Seven A Central. Fort Smith North side is going to be at North Little Rock. [00:23:58] Speaker B: That's a winnable game. [00:23:59] Speaker A: Well, North Little Rock is not what they're leland, I was going to ask you if you had anything on the Harbor South side matchup that you wanted to say. [00:24:09] Speaker D: Well, it's a key game, of course, because with with Rogers getting upset a couple of weeks ago, it has now put a little more Spring into probably most of the teams in the conference, but especially South Side, because now that third spot now is kind of open again. And we're not saying that Bentonville is going to win out because they've got a tough game, especially if they have to go with a backup quarterback or a third string quarterback. But it seems like that third spot now is a little more open. So, yeah, that's a huge game because Benville West and harbor and Southside both, and now Rogers are all kind of looking for that spot, that third spot, which is big, not only a home playoff game, but now that puts somebody up against the 6th seed from the Central as opposed to being the fourth seed still at home, but going up against the fifth seed. [00:25:11] Speaker A: There's a little bit of a difference there for sure. Yes. In the six. A west. So Greenwood is going to host Russellville. The Bulldogs. Just keep rolling. They won handily against Lake Hamilton last week. And now they're kind of coming up on that stretch where they're going to get pulaski academy and little rock Christian after this. And things are starting to get really fun. Down for their first is the best. [00:25:39] Speaker B: Time for high school football right now, this stretch. [00:25:41] Speaker A: Yeah. Mountain home is at silent Springs and little rock christians at van Buren in the five a west. We've got some big games this week. Alma is at prairie Grove and what should be an exciting game. Harrison's at Dardanelle. Shiloh christian is at Farmington and Clarksville is at p ridge. We've talked about the big matchup in the four a one with elkins at Ozark and we'll see what elkins is made of. We've been kind of curious about the elks and we know they're talented. They're really going to get their oil check this week. I think ozark will be ready for them. We'll just see, though. [00:26:21] Speaker B: Ozark is a traditional power. I mean, they've been really good for a lot of years. The Elst has just kind of come on the scene last few years seem like but, man, they're putting what are they averaging, 55 points a game? Something like that. They got a great quarterback. They got really good receivers. So, man, that is a premier game. I don't care if you're somewhere up and down interstate 40 over there, you see them lights over there, you pull off, you go over there and watch the hillbillies and elks go at it. [00:26:53] Speaker A: Another just an interesting game, I think. And Rick, as of right now, we're sending you over there. It's going to be Gentry at Lincoln. There's a lot of intrigue in that game and a lot of important conference standing there with gentry and Lincoln. [00:27:10] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm interested in seeing know they've had some really big wins and they've had some losses, too. So they kind of been up and down a little bit. But Drew Moore and the quarterback over there, they got some really great receivers. So I look forward to going over to I think they call it the wolf den. Maybe I get me a wolf burger or wolf ham and cheese sandwich. [00:27:33] Speaker D: You graham, do you want to tell Rick or you want me to what are you telling? What is well, okay. There may be 120 passes thrown in that game, Rick. Oh, my goodness. So wear your comfortable shoes. [00:27:49] Speaker B: What's the deadline? 12:30 A.m.. Right. [00:27:52] Speaker A: Whenever you file. [00:27:54] Speaker B: Okay. [00:27:55] Speaker D: Because I tell you, drew Moore last week through for I think the numbers I saw was 469 yards and attempted 61 passes. [00:28:04] Speaker B: Oh, my goodness. [00:28:04] Speaker D: And of course, Talon Williams is the Shiloh transfer. That's the gentry quarterback. And they've been airing it out, too. So that one I may be able to get up there and watch the last bit of that one. [00:28:19] Speaker B: Do I have any sick days left? Hey, you know what? I got this one time, springdale high when Gus was here, mustang, they were throwing the ball all over the place and they played Shiloh Christian. I swear that game lasted five and a half hours and I was stressed out, and there's no way I can get any numbers off that game. But hey, I'll give it a shot. [00:28:42] Speaker D: All right, well, at least this time you'll be prepared for that five hour game. [00:28:47] Speaker B: No, I won't be prepared. [00:28:48] Speaker A: And then real quick, guys, we'll just briefly mention again the Boonville at Charleston game. We've been kind of talking about this clash all season. DAX Goff and the boys at Booneville going to Charleston, taking on the defending state champs. They haven't met since state championship game last year, and it's at Charleston. I know Booneville will be favorites to win the game, but you best believe that Charleston is going to be ready, too. [00:29:13] Speaker B: They're defending champs, right? [00:29:15] Speaker A: They still are. [00:29:17] Speaker B: I love that. To me, he's a football complete football player, linebacker, running back. And I don't know if he's going to play D or may not even play after high school, but he is a poster boy for Arkansas high school football. Love that kid. [00:29:33] Speaker D: And really a poster boy for high school sports in general because he baseball, he plays basketball. And last year during baseball season, rylan Ray was supposed to be the catcher for the team, and of course, he had not recovered from his football injury. So DAX golf just steps in and plays catcher all year. Hits about 600 with twelve home runs. And then he goes and helps the track team a little bit, too. [00:29:58] Speaker A: Man. Wow. Doing it all, man. He can. He's just one of those once in a lifetime athletes sometimes that just roll through. [00:30:07] Speaker B: You love those multi sport kids. A lot of parents, you need to stay with one sport, try to get you a scholarship. He said no. He's playing it all. [00:30:15] Speaker A: Love it. All right, well, we're going to take a little break, and when we come back, we will do our weekly top five. Now back to the show. [00:30:51] Speaker A: Welcome back to the Prep Rally Podcast, sponsored by West Termite Pest and Lawn. And we're going to jump right into our top five of the week, and Rick Fires start us off. Seven a west. Top five or class seven a rather seven a west. [00:31:05] Speaker B: We're going to kind of overlap. Fable 42, bettenville 21. Fable is just on a roll. They're among the top three in the state. You can put them over Conway or Conway over them, but they're right there. Bentonville, West, I mean, they lost. A game early in the season and kind of forgot about them a little bit. And they're right there. They only got one loss. They just rolled springdale harbor over at Bryant. Bryant had some injuries last year and they had two backup running backs. Just get in there and get the job. They got the depth fable. We talked about their last three games against losing teams they should beat, but sports is the ultimate reality. You're not going to assume anything. Bryant last three games. Look at this. Cabot, North, Laura, and then the biggest game of the year, I think, is Brian at Conway to end a conference play right there. I saw in the paper. And Rogers Mounties, man, they're just putting up all kind of numbers. Grayson cash big time. Dane Williams. Big time numbers. Rogers, that's really offensive team, but now they got to have some defense this time of year, especially you get into playoffs, they got to play some defense as well. That's all I got. [00:32:22] Speaker A: All right, Leland, go for it, man. [00:32:25] Speaker D: Greenwood is still the number one team at six a. They're number four overall, and I think sometimes we kind of gloss over what they're doing because it's almost routine. But Friday night, in a 42 to nothing win over Lake Hamilton, which is pretty impressive in itself, sophomore quarterback Kane Archer was 19 of 21 wow. For 239 yards and three touchdowns. 19 of 21 is pretty good. That's even hard to do in practice. The Lavaca Golden Arrows running back Michael Barwick had 21 carries to rush for 219 yards, scored three touchdowns. That was a huge win. And of course, we've talked about the three A one and what that conference is going to be, and Lavaca is going to be right in the middle of that. And then Ozark Eli Gilstrap had twelve solo tackles, four assists, and a tackle for loss and their 42 to 20 win over Gentry. And we talked about the Ozark and Elkins games. Ozark is one of those teams, the motto, they respect everyone, but they fear no one. So that's kind of the way Ozark is. [00:33:33] Speaker A: Bring on Elkins. [00:33:35] Speaker D: Absolutely. They're going to be up for the challenge on Friday night. Subiaco Academy is closing in. Their regular season ends this coming Friday night. They won a big game over Fountain Lake, 60 to twelve. Anthony Gerig had five carries for 134 yards and had touchdown runs of 41, 42, and 43 yards. That's on five carries. [00:33:59] Speaker B: Wow. [00:33:59] Speaker D: And then, of course, Booneville DAX Golf had 206 yards and four more touchdowns to lead Booneville 390 yards rushing in a 42 to seven win over Mansfield. [00:34:11] Speaker A: Wow. That was impressive at Mansfield, right? Or was that Booneville? [00:34:15] Speaker D: Yes, Mansfield. We talked about we thought the difference maybe between two through five was a little boy, I tell you, Booneville and Charleston's at the top, and that's a big one Friday night. [00:34:29] Speaker A: Man, I can't wait to hear how that one goes. All right, so I'm going to go back to Lincoln. Drew Moore, 496 passing yards, 25 of 34 completions. Just a big night for the Lincoln quarterback. And then three Lincoln receivers had over 100 yards. Kaden Brewer, eight catches for 170. Jace Burks, nine catches for 104 and five touchdowns. Wow, Kaden, I think it's job. Five catches for 166 and a touchdown. So, big night for the Lincoln Wolves in their game against Huntsville last week. Stealing a little bit of blend over here, but Kobe Willbanks at Ozark had 362 yards of total offense on his own against Gentry, he rushed for 255 yards and five touchdowns. I mean, boys, that's a day at the office. How about Alex Absure, the grandson of Danny Absheer with a come from behind, took over the reins at quarterback for the Prairie Grove Tigers. Come from behind win at Dardnell. And what really just kind of I thought was impressive at the very end of the game, they went on a 97 yard touchdown march to extend their lead to eight points. [00:35:45] Speaker B: That's why I love those long marches. They kind of eat up the class when you're getting the deadline and everything. I support that 100%. [00:35:52] Speaker A: That means Rick Fires gets to go home quicker. Braxton Bershiers with a big interception in that one as well. And then Bo Williams, this one kind of got lost in the shuffle. And Shiloh still just keeps doing their thing. Bo Williams, seven touchdowns in the win last week. He had 181 yards rushing on 19 carries. He also caught five passes, 50 yards. How about this Evan baker guy for Shiley? He was the backup quarterback before Cole Creighton got hurt. And he goes 1722 for 217 and eleven carries for 91 yards. And I'm assuming they're still going to get the quarterback back, Creighton. So when he comes back, Shiloh is going to be in a good situation there. And then the last one I have is we're going to get a little five a west volleyball in here. How about Siloam Springs volleyball with its first win over Greenwood since 2014 last week, and they beat them three one. And the interesting story there is the two coaches at Silent Springs, carrie Tamarath and Kimmy, I remember, pronounced her name wrong. Golier, I think, is how it goes, are both Greenwood Alums and played for Jennifer Golden at Greenwood. And the pupils got the coach last week. So that was a big win for the Lady Panthers over the Lady Bulldogs. Well, guys, that wraps up my top five. And that wraps us up for this week's Prep Rally. And folks, you can listen to Prep [email protected]. You can watch it on YouTube or wherever you get your podcasts. Thanks again to our sponsor, West Termite Pests and Lawn. And be sure and check out Prep Rally live later this week. Rick Fires and I will probably wrongly guess who's going to be winning these football games. All right. For Leland Barclay in the River Valley. For Rick Fires, I'm Graham Thomas, and thank you for listening to Prep Rally.
